ARIES (March 21-April 19)
On the road, these drivers are brave – they don’t second guess their driving decisions. However, they have little patience for traffic jams, usually opting for a shortcut if there is one. And, they are always in a rush and are the least likely zodiac sign to be polite to other road users. Almost a third (28%) don’t give way to other motorists. They also might leave their cars unlocked without realising — this is why this sign is the most likely to be targeted by car thieves.
A sign with all of this energy and confidence is at a high risk of being involved in an episode of road rage – Aries after all is symbolized by a charging ram.
In a breakdown, an Aries is likely to initially let out their frustrations but then their pragmatic nature kicks in as they get on with sorting out the problem and calling their breakdown provider.
TAURUS (April 20-May 20)
A Taurus keeps their eyes on the road and would never be distracted behind the wheel. However, one in four admit they bang a kerb each time they try to enter a space.
A Taurus won’t retaliate to any dangerous drivers projecting their road rage on them.
Because they’re practical individuals, when something goes wrong with their car, they’ll figure out the next best steps to get their problem solved by either calling their breakdown provider to help guide them to fix the problem or be perfectly fine waiting on the roadside for assistance.
GEMINI (May 21-June 20)
Geminis rarely get fatigued while driving. They also make great passengers on road trips because they keep their driver alert. However, Geminis love to talk, have a short attention span and can easily be distracted. If they are driving solo, they can’t help but dial up a friend for a chat.
Almost one in five Geminis (19%) have never experienced road rage and 57% passed their driving test the very first time.
In the event of a breakdown, Geminis will call their parents, sisters, brothers, friends, messaging everyone they know to alert them of the news. When the breakdown technician arrives, they will need to answer 100 questions.
CANCER (June 21-July 22)
Those born under the sign of Cancer are seldom late, so they are unlikely to drive dangerously to make up time. They are trustworthy and responsible and will always triple check that everyone has their seat belt on and will follow all the traffic rules.
Cancerians are the most confident zodiac sign, when it comes to slotting their vehicle into a parking space, with 61% claiming to very rarely struggle when reversing into a space – 7% above the national average.
Cancers will assume responsibility for everyone and make sure their friends and family feel safe should their vehicle experience a breakdown – even if they are feeling a little overwhelmed themselves. They’ll put on the hazard lights and have their high-vis jacket on before you know it!
LEO (July 23-August 22)
Leos are determined to win, which is why they’re the zodiac sign most likely to pass a driving test first time around. However, 37% of Leos say they break the speed limit, which is higher than the national average.
Leos are the best people to have in a car should a breakdown occur. They are beacons of calmness and authority and they’ll know the best people to get you moving again.
VIRGO (August 23-September 22)
Virgos make very attentive drivers. They are constantly scanning the road for dangers. However, their chronic worrying can cause big problems as they can be timid and accident-prone.
A Virgo’s car is immaculate both inside and out, they know the kilometres on their car and have it serviced every year without fail. If a breakdown occurs, a Virgo will efficiently call for assistance and do everything they can to ease the job of the mechanic. They will give precise location details and backup phone numbers – it’s always good to be prepared!
LIBRA (September 23-October 22)
A Libra makes a pretty cooperative and gracious driver. They are open to sharing the road with motorcyclists, bicyclists, and even the occasional roller-bladder. However, Librans can be hesitant at times and may need to ramp up their decision-making time while behind the wheel.
There is no panicking in a breakdown for those born under the sign of a Libra.
SCORPIO (October 23-November 21)
A Scorpio driver can easily navigate tricky roadways until they feel like they’ve been taken advantage of in some way. Once this happens, they can get malicious and may react aggressively towards other motorists.
Scorpios are the least likely to make a claim on their car insurance as they are intuitive and make calculated decisions, which makes them better than others zodiac signs, behind the wheel.
Instead of getting annoyed in a breakdown, a Scorpio will take back ownership and look to manage the situation until there is resolution provided by the breakdown provider. They may feel deeply frustrated if the mechanic doesn’t have the ability to fix their car in the moment.
SAGITTARIUS (November 22-December 21)
A Sagittarius driver always gives the best directions. Those born under this sign are the first to stop and help another driver in need. Sagittarians get plenty of karma for being considerate – they’re the least likely to be victims of vehicle theft, the insurance data shows.
Sagittarius drivers however can be quite inflexible. They would rather stick with a poor choice of shortcut and wait in traffic than admit they were wrong.
Sagittarians will thrill you with tales of where their travel adventures went hilariously and dramatically wrong! But no need to be concerned – all the issues are quickly resolved by their trusty breakdown provider who helped them on their way and got them going again.
CAPRICORN (December 22-January 19)
Capricorns are rarely late and always give themselves an ample amount of time for trips in the car. They are not impulsive and don’t take many risks while driving. Cautious by nature almost 45% say they hardly ever speed or don’t exceed the limit at all.
Capricorns tend to become nervous and uncomfortable in what they cannot see or understand. They may have a difficult time trusting other people’s directions or following detours. Capricorns need to forge their own path in life and on the road.
If a Capricorn breaks down enroute to their destination they’ll be disappointed that their mode of transportation has failed them. Deeply upset that they didn’t notice a problem with their vehicle sooner, they try to ascertain where they had gone wrong. They’ll talk endlessly with the breakdown mechanic as they try to fix the problem because they’re eager to learn how they can do better.
AQUARIUS (January 20 to February 18)
Aquarians can always come up with ways to avoid traffic jams and will often think up inventive shortcuts when crunched for time. Those born under this sign also have a rebellious side. This could get them into trouble should the shortcuts they create on the fly involve illegal turns or driving above the speed limit.
Almost 29% of Aquarians take three or more attempts to pass their driving test, mainly because they’re easily distracted.
Also, don’t expect an Aquarius to offer to drive you home after a big night out. Over 27% claim to never be the designated driver. No worries though – you probably wouldn’t want a lift home in an Aquarius’s car anyway because they’re filthy, the research found. One in five Aquarians, admit they clean their car less than twice a year.
PISCES (February 19 to March 20)
Behind the wheel, Pisceans are good-natured towards other drivers and the least likely sign to exhibit road rage. Being a somewhat passive sign, they can be over-cautious while merging and while negotiating 4-way intersections, which could confuse their fellow drivers.
Over 41% of Pisceans claim to wash their car exteriors at least once a month.
Pisces is likely to be the zodiac sign most caught out by a surprise, which isn’t great on the road. However, they will benefit most from the kindness of someone who can help them out – like their breakdown technician who can get their vehicle up and running once more.
