What if the unthinkable happened and your rental vehicle was stolen while you were on vacation?
Nobody wants to think about this but it does happen, and even though its not your fault, your still liable as your name is on the Rental Agreement.
This is why rental companies like Everything Fleet offer ‘optional’ protection packages (or an additional daily fee) on top of what the vehicle comes with. The price for ‘optional’ protection cover varies depending on the age of the renter, type of vehicle and length of your rental, nevertheless it will shield you from some expenditure by reducing the amount you pay.
Managing the inconvenience of losing the vehicle is a nightmare nobody wants. If in the event your vehicle is stolen it is essential you don’t waste time and you use the quick guide below to help you:
-
Report the theft to the police and provide a copy of the Police Report to Everything Fleet.
-
Contact Everything Fleet within 24 hours as per the Terms and Conditions.
-
Submit the Vehicle Incident Report Form (VIRF)
-
Verify what protection option you opted for and pay the relevant Damage Liability Fee (DLF)
- We will charge you based on the DLF specified in your Rental Agreement. The amount of the DLF will depend on whether you have purchased additional protection options for your rental vehicle. Your financial liability is capped at this amount, so you will not have to pay for the full cost of a replacement vehicle unless you have breached the Terms and Conditions of the Rental Agreement.
- It’s important you familiarise yourself with the Terms and Conditions of your Rental Agreement before you begin your journey so you know exactly what is covered. For example, if you left the car unlocked you would be liable for the whole cost of replacing the vehicle.
