The Swifts (not Taylor) are still alive and kicking with a dramatic makeover inside, outside and under the hood!
The new Swift is designed with the sheer joy of driving in mind. It’s everything you love about the Swift – nimble, fun and iconic! However, for the first time, it is fitted with ‘mild-hybrid’ technology, which cannot drive the wheels on electric power alone – but can assist the engine with a hint of power on the move or allow for an automatic stop-start system that turns off the engine in the vehicle when stopped.
Infotainment Touchscreen
Headlining the interior changes is a new 9.0-inch infotainment touchscreen with wireless (previously wired) Apple CarPlay, wired Android Auto, satellite navigation, Bluetooth, and AM/FM/DAB digital radio across the range.
Supple And Supportive
The front seats are supple but supportive, and like the previous model have an almost sporty sculpting that supports the shoulders a little more than the basic seat designs of competitors. Another Swift hallmark is the tall and boxy proportions, which help to make the cabin feel light and airy despite its compact dimensions.
Boot Space
Boot space is a compact 265 litres – 23 litres up on the old one – with the rear seats in use, expanding to 589 litres with the seatbacks folded up to the window line.
Could the new Swift Hybrid be the default choice for eco-conscious city dwellers? It’s definitely worth a look — these little cars pack a big punch!
