Toyota has launched a new Prado in Australia – the first since 2009 and it is a radical departure from its predecessors. More than an SUV, the All-New Prado really stands out as both a beauty and a beast!

The interior is ‘blocky’ in design and despite it being a large, high-riding vehicle, its easy to get in and out thanks to the side steps and chunky grab handles.

The seats feel purpose-made for long road trips offering great visibility and electric adjustment with both heating and ventilation. There is a generous amount of storage space including sizeable cupholders, large pockets, a centre console box that doubles as a cool box, plus plenty of USB ports.

On the safety front, the Prado comes with all the power and essential safety features you need from a family 4WD and with its increased towing capacity it means you’ll never have to compromise on cargo.

Mechanically, the Prado is fit for purpose on the rough roads. Solid steering gives you confidence  to keep speeds high; the stability and traction controls are quite and non-invasive and the ABS braking system is superb during loose surface emergency stopping.
