FAQs

  • 4.2m Pantech require a standard vehicle licence.  These are a popular choice for those wishing to move house, or shift smaller, less-bulkier items for business purposes.
  • 6.4m and 7.6m Pantechs, Trays and Tautliners require a Medium Rigid (MR) Licence. MR Vehicles include trucks or buses with a GMV over  8 tonne and 2 axles.
  • 8m Pantechs, Trays and Tilts require a Heavy Rigid (HR) Licence. HR vehicles include trucks and buses with a GVM more than 8 tonnes and 3 or more axles.

  • Break early – trucks are heavier than cars and need extra time to come to a stop
  • Take the time to secure your items
  • Drive below the speed limit to give yourself more time to adjust on the road
  • Give yourself ample room to turn
  • Use your side mirrors as most trucks don’t have central rear-view mirrors
  • Take note of any blind spots
  • Trucks are significantly taller than a standard car. Know the height of your truck, and keep this in mind when driving under bridges, overpasses, and garages

Anyone over the age of 25 with an open driver’s licence can drive our trucks.

No truck is 100% waterproof. Make sure to wrap your items in plastic during heavy rain to avoid the possibility of water damage.

Refer to the manufacturer’s instructions regarding the DPF system as each make and model differ slightly. Typically, if the DPF warning comes up on the dashboard while driving, pull over where safe to do so and leave the engine idling. The dashboard should show that the filter system is cleaning. Once finished, the warning will disappear and you are free to continue driving.

Each make and model of a truck has a different fuel requirement.

The process of refilling a truck that runs on diesel is different in a few ways. The main difference you will notice is that diesel fuel froths up when you are filling the tank, sometimes causing the pump to click off early. If this happens, lift the nozzle slightly and continue to fill, making sure the fuel gauge shows as full before you finish up.
